RC35 News — IPSA World Congress Rome 2027
19:29 - By Web Admin - Events
We are pleased to announce that the 29th IPSA World Congress of Political Science will take place in Rome, Italy, from 24–28 July 2027. The official theme of the Congress is: “Uncertain Democracies: Rethinking Governance in a Changing Global System”
This timely theme invites scholars to examine how democratic systems respond to global political, economic, and technological transformations — an agenda that strongly resonates with the mission of RC35 – Technology and Development.
Following the successful RC35 participation at the 27th World Congress in Buenos Aires (2023) and the dynamic engagement at the 28th World Congress in Seoul (2025), the Research Committee on Technology and Development (RC35) looks forward to continuing its vibrant presence at the upcoming IPSA World Congress 2027.
The Rome 2027 Congress will convene political scientists, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to discuss cutting-edge themes in global politics, governance, innovation, and development. It presents an excellent opportunity for RC35 members to contribute panels, present research, and engage in interdisciplinary dialogue at the heart of the international political science community.

We warmly invite all RC35 members — from early-career scholars to established researchers — to participate actively in the Congress, contribute to the intellectual exchange, and help shape global conversations on technology and development in an era of democratic uncertainty.
